We are excited to announce that we once again have in-person volunteer opportunities!
We are currently in need of volunteers to help out with our Fall Family Nights on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, beginning mid-September. These nights are wonderful opportunities for families to learn critical skills and make meaningful connections.
Activities will change each week, but jobs could include:
Reading to younger children
Facilitating an activity
Helping with set-up or clean-up
Leading a discussion
Holding infants while parents work with other kids
Every safety precaution will be taken in order to ensure the safety of our community (see below for more information on preventative measures).
Collect items, make a meal, share your talents – there are many ways to make a difference at Saranam.
Want to get involved at Saranam? There are many ways to help teach, encourage, and connect with our families. Choose what you’d like to do from the lists below or create your own idea and share it with us.
Property Maintenance– Some of the tasks we regularly need help with include yardwork, small projects like building and painting a fence, courtyard cleanup, and playground upkeep
Decorate apartments– During the summer, help prepare apartments for incoming families
Collect household supplies –Every month we provide families with essential household items including diapers, soap, and cleaning supplies. Help us fulfill their needs
Host a gift card drive– Get together with your community to collect gift cards for our families. We can always use gift cards from Walmart, Target, or grocery stores
Order Family Supplies -Order from our Amazon Wish Lists and it will be delivered directly to our door
Make a treat– Our families love a good meal from the heart. Make or buy meals, treats, or other grocery items and we will distribute them to families
Gather cold weather needs – Donate blankets, gloves, mittens, and other cold weather necessities to keep families warm in the winter
Tutor adults– Bring your expertise to help our adults with their GED prep and college courses.
Share your skills – Do you have a passion on a topic you can share? An important part of our program is learning life skills so families can maintain their progress outside of our program. Help us create a virtual library of knowledge by recording a 3–5-minute video showcasing a skill, for instance:
Donate clothes, furniture, or other household items
Give your time at special events including family field trips, reunions, and all-community activities
Join a committee to support the planning and implementation of projects and events
Join our board as a member
During the COVID pandemic volunteer activities at Saranam will vary. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us directly and we’ll let you know what opportunities are currently available.

COVID Safety Measures
We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our community. Due to the increasing incidence of COVID in our state, we have implemented several preventative measures to inhibit the spread of the virus. These policies include:
Per CDC guidance, masks will be required indoors when two or more people are present
All staff, families and volunteers over the age of 12 must be vaccinated
All surfaces in common areas will be cleaned regularly
All visitors will be required to fill out a health screening upon entering the building(s)
Anyone exposed to COVID or feeling unwell should avoid visiting the campus until a negative test result is obtained
We appreciate your adherence to these procedures and thank you for helping us promote wellness in our community. If you have any questions, please contact our office.
